Questions I get asked a lot...
What is Bushcraft?
"Bushcraft" is a name coined by Ray Mears meaning skills needed to live comfortably using natural resources in the wilderness.
What is the difference between Bushcraft and Survival?
Bushcraft = you do want to be there (i.e. you are camping or relaxing in the wilderness)
Survival = you don't want to be there (i.e. you are staying alive till you can get home)
Do you eat Bush tucker? and will I have to eat it?
I often eat wild plants and berries and I have tried some wiggly things in the past. Wild food eating is always optional in my teaching sessions.
Have I met Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?
No, but I saw Ray at one of his his Heroes of Telemark lectures sadly I didn't get to speak with him.
What books do I recommend for good information?
I have many book on the subject, generally speaking the older the book the better, as modern ones tend to have more "glam" photos.
