It's amazing how much can be re used or recycled, nearly all of my display shelter and equipment including my personal equipment is second hand or recycled.
Perspex sheets were given to me for free.
Plywood an old wardrobe and off cuts from a DIY job I did.
Wooden frames for the boxes this was in a "free firewood" skip from recycle centre.
The Plywood board from the displays used to be a wardrobe.
Hinges came from various cupboards and cases.
Screws many are recycled.
Bolts and some fixtures came from a discarded wheelchair.
Aluminium poles used to be a tent, from recycle center.
Poles for the large shelter are a mixture of discarded tent frames from recycle centre.
Paint was bought from recycling centres.
Metal boxes (army surplus).
Tarps (army surplus).
RAF Pilot Mannequin was totally recycled, material tent poles plastic sheet foam rubber from a cushion and even rubber gloves! Survival kit (in display box) some was given to me free or bought from charity shops, but the majority was collected as a hobby over years.
The natural materials I use, have been hand picked then carefully sorted and dried myself. The selection process is critical to the success of my work and I have tried many combinations of more accessible materials with limited success.
